The Panther represents our shadow side. As described by psychologist Carl Jung, the shadow is the self's emotional blind spot - the part the ego does not want to acknowledge. Looking into his work I was surprised to find his interest in spirituality and his views on the tarot.
This picture acknowledges our darker side as an integral part of ourselves that provides balance when integrated correctly, rather than as something that needs to be repressed or denied completely.
